Hi.

Thanks for stopping by my site. Here you will find a brief bio, my resume, and a description of my dissertation project.

I grew up in a beautiful area outside of Saint John New Brunswick, Canada, and attended Dalhousie University in Halifax Nova Scotia. There I completed an Honors Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in psychology. My honors thesis was done with Dr. Sandra Walde studying the foraging behavior of two predatory mites in apple orchards. This project spurred my interest in biological control and I moved to Berkeley in 1993 to attend graduate school at the University of California Center for Biological Control.

My Ph.D. dissertation was completed under the supervision of Dr. Don Dahlsten and involved the implementation of an integrated pest management program for the elm leaf beetle in Sacramento, CA. I am currently working with Dr. Dahlsten as a post-doc developing a biological control program for the recently introduced red gum lerp psyllid and the spotted gum lerp psyllid.

Falling in love with both the Bay Area and a Bay Area native, I decided to marry an amazing woman, Peggy, in August of 1999 and now live in an Oakland loft. We also live with a very sweet Weimeraner that likes to take us for runs at the Berkeley Marina as often as she may.

Northern California is incredible. I enjoy taking advantage of the wonderful choices of restaurants, nightlife, and nearby snowboarding this great area has to offer.
