Readings

Required Texts:
Two fictional novels are required. They are extremely well written, and should be a pleasure to read and to discuss in section. Section should be a time for you to ask questions and to discuss the readings and course materials with other students and the GSIs. The books (other than the reader) can be found used at the ASUC Bookstores or other local bookstores.

Optional Readings:

Chan, Sucheng. This Bittersweet Soil: The Chinese in California Agriculture 1860-1890. Several chapters are in the reader and others are on reserve.

Nichols, John T. The Milagro Beanfield War. New York, NY: Ballantine Books; 1976.

Reserve Readings:
The readings are on reserve in the Moffitt Undergraduate Library.
