The CD-ROM in American Environmental History is for classroom use. Please e-mail Carolyn Merchant for the installation password. State the name of your course, number of students, and institution.

The CD requires 120 megabytes of hard drive space on a PC and 140 megabytes on a Mac. It will take several minutes to download depending on the speed of your connection and computer. Download the CD by clicking a link for the Mac or PC version. Wait until the file is completely downloaded.

On a PC, install the CD by clicking on it and enter the password when requested. On a Mac, unzip the file using the password.

Place the folder marked EnvHistoryCD on your deskstop. To start the CD open the folder and click on the file labeled Start Here (leave the Start Here file inside the folder and do not open the other files or folders).
