Number of Dams per California County

This map shows the total number of dams for each California county. Points for all dams are displayed, by maximum storage. Note the difference with the map of total dam capacity per county; several counties, such as Los Angeles and Modoc (in the Northeast) have many small dams but not particularly large ones, and do not have a large total dam capacity. Large total dam capacities usually coincide with the presence of the largest dams.
