For undergraduate students in the major wishing to pursue independent research beyond the standard requirements of the Department of Nutritional Sciences, the department offers the H196 course series. Students who successfully complete the series will be awarded Departmental Honors in Nutritional Sciences and presented with a Departmental Certificate. Requirements:

One member of the committee must also be the faculty sponsor of the Honors Project. The other two committee members will serve as readers and their presence on the committee must be approved by the faculty sponsor. Enrollment Procedure:
It is the students' responsibility to create an approved work schedule with their advisors. The thesis must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the end of the final semester to allow for review by the committee. The student should submit 4 typed copies of the thesis (one for each committee member and one to be kept on file) which will not be returned to the student.
