Scanning Images

Follow these steps to scan an image and save it as a file:

Double-click on Imaging on desktop, or choose Start->Programs->Accessories->Imaging.

Click on File, then choose Acquire Image.

The scanner will attempt to do a Full-Auto scan.  Full-Auto mode is the quickest and simplest way to scan your image without having to customize anything.  Just let it finish scanning and save your image file.  If you wish to customize any of the scanner settings such as detail level, colors, size, and etc., click Cancel and choose Manual mode.  See below for further Manual mode instructions.

In manual mode, scanner will first do a quick pre-scan.  Once pre-scan is complete, click and drag your mouse in the image area to indicate the area you want to scan.  Then click Scan.

Once scanning is complete, close the EPSON TWAIN 5 window.  Resize and/or edit your image if you wish.  To save your image, click on File and choose Save As.

In Save As window, you can choose the format your image will be saved in.  (JPG files are much smaller than TIFF or Bitmap files.)  Choose the location, name, and format of your image then click Save to finish.
