My name is Kelly Schirmann and I am a third-year student at Cal pursuing a Conservation & Resource Studies Major and English minor. I was born and raised in Eureka, CA, a small rural town on the Northcoast where I grew up backpacking and hiking through the beautiful beaches, redwoods, and mountains, and first learned to appreciate environmental ecology and biology. I'm majoring in CRS because I want to work to preserve natural resources for future generations, and help protect the ones we still have today.
I love taking advantage of all CNR has to offer, including smaller class sizes, more personal relationships with faculty and staff members, and of course, a wide variety of awesome environmental subjects to study; everything from ethnobotany to agroecology to renewable resources. I became a P.A.L. so I could help other students in CNR make the most of their Berkeley experience, and find exactly what their passions are within their own major.
