Objectives:

You are cordially invited to attend a week-long scientific meeting (Monday-Friday) in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area of California. This multidisciplinary meeting on the latest research will address basic and applied studies of the Auchenorrhycha. The Auchenorrhyncha includes leafhoppers, planthoppers, cicadas, spittlebugs, and tree hoppers. All scientists with interests in systematics and evolution, ecology, behavior, physiology, pest management, or any other aspect of the Auchenorrhycha are welcomed to participate.

Past Congresses and Workshops have prompted lasting collaborations and exchanges of ideas among participants from diverse scientific fields and countries. The meetings to be held in Berkeley at the University of California promise to continue this tradition. The meeting includes a full day excursion at mid-week to the California Academy of Science in San Francisco, Muir Woods Park, and Napa Valley wine country.
