O. Lloyd-Smith Research Associate Center for Infectious
Disease Dynamics Department of Biology Moving in spring 2009 to UCLA Dept of Ecology &
Evolutionary Biology Research Interests I
study the ecology and evolution of infectious disease in animal and human
populations, with emphasis on pathogen emergence, host population
heterogeneities, and the integration of dynamics across scales. By combining
data with quantitative methods such as mathematical modelling
and statistical analysis, I aim to deepen our knowledge of fundamental
principles of disease ecology and apply those principles to understand
observed patterns and design effective control policies. I
work on a diverse range of host-pathogen systems. One system of current interest is leptospirosis in ` |
