The CRYPTOS System

The CRYPTOS system consists of the following three computer programs:
CRYPTOS the Cooperative Redwood 
Yield Project's Timber Output 
Simulator used to predict the development of young-growth redwood/
  Douglas-fir stands;
GENR
  the stand Generator
 used to develop simulated tree lists, or
 to provide missing data in tree lists, for use in CRYPTOS;
Compare take the difference between 
  CRYPTOS yield files to compare
  CRYPTOS simulations with actual measurements;
YDAVG 
  average CRYPTOS output yield files; and 
SDAVG   
  average multiple stand descriptions to produce a single 
  stand description file for CRYPTOS. These programs enable the user to 
  create a tree list to represent a forest stand, to simulate the development 
  of that stand through 5-year growth cycle (with or without partial harvests, 
  mortality, or ingrowth), and to create yield summaries for use in management 
  planning.
