Summary: Calibrated 7700, rain later today, forgot to put 7700 spray nozzle back on

Carlos, Ella, and I arrived at 9:15 PST. Ella is an undergrad who took Dennis’s class and is interested in fieldwork. It was mostly overcast, getting breezier, with chance of showers later today. We had a few big storms in the last few weeks. The grass on the interior levee roads is getting tall.

Carlos gave Ella a tour of all the sensors and showed her how to clean flux/rad sensors. They reported there was a chunk of dirt on the PARin sensor.

The staff gauge read 63cm.

I downloaded met, cam, USB GHG, and miniCH4 data. I erased the miniCH4 data, set the next sampling time to 10:15, and started sampling. The reservoir was ½ full; we refilled it.

The dissolved CO2 data looks suspicious, really noisy and then maxing out. Maybe this eosGP sensor has finally died.

We calibrated the 7700. We put the spiky hat back on but forgot to put the spray nozzle back on (we remembered when we were at East End).

I measured the surface water conductivity.

7500 read: 442pm CO2, 510mmol/m3 H2O, 16.5C, 101.4kPa, 104SS – 105 after cleaning
7700 read: 2.03ppm CH4, 35RSSI — 72 after cleaning

We left at 10:20 PST.
